Well, just this last day I’ve noticed some definite changes in Freya.

First, she’s beginning to get Josefin’s eyes.

More importantly and impressively, she’s really starting to use her hands to study things. Before, she was flailing her arms out to just grab stuff, though now there seems to be an ulterior motive : to feel and explore objects and there relative distance. We wake up every morning to Freya grabbing our noses or pinching our cheeks. Not the most pleasant method of waking up, granted, but sweet nonetheless.

Diving

We went to Babyswim today, and Freya had her first experience at diving. Well, I say diving ; it was more like dunking.

Still, she enjoyed it lots (at least after the first dunking), and came away as tired as she usually does.

Hands Up

I noticed something funny yesterday, when Freya was lying in bed in her star-like pose.

When her arms are stretched right up above her head her hands are level with the top of her head. If I do this experiment, the top of my head is level with my elbows.

I guess I already knew that babies were of wierd proportions, but this is outrageous. Or perhaps not. I need to spend less time in bed.

Development News

We’ve been in England this past week and noticed lots of new things happening.

The most noticeable has been a cat-like wail which Freya has developed. The other most impressive has been the development of Freya’s laugh. It has gone past the initial one-time chuckle into a very cute two or three-stage exhalation.
